CHRIS 180 has transformed over 70,000 lives and has 36 years of experience providing highly individualized, trauma informed services that promote healing, recovery and resiliency. Our extensive experience is a solid demonstration of our qualifications and expertise in understanding trauma. We use this expertise to train individuals and organizations on recognizing, responding and de-escalating agitated individuals who have experienced trauma.
The CHRIS Training Institute offers 3 main trauma trainings for individuals, organizations and communities: Trauma STARs, Trauma Assessment and Trauma Toolbox. Our ultimate goal is to help people heal and develop the skills they need to navigate life and contribute to their community.
Trauma STARs: Understanding Trauma & Trauma Informed Practice provides an understanding of how trauma impacts children, families, adults, caregivers and providers. The content will aid in an increased understanding of trauma, implications of complex trauma exposure, how to respond to individuals who have experienced trauma and understanding the lifelong impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences.
Participants will also increase their awareness of vicarious trauma and learn how to promote a trauma informed system through Trauma STARs (Safety. Trustworthiness. Awareness. Relationship Driven) model of integration. This engaging training is interactive and includes lecture, video and group activities.
The Trauma: Impact, Assessment and Diagnosis training provides professionals with a comprehensive understanding of trauma and the impact of child and adolescent trauma/complex trauma on multiple domains (Neurobiology, Physiology, Attachment, Affect Regulation, Behavioral Control, Cognition, Memory, Dissociation and Self Concept.) Participants will learn and/or review DSM 5 Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders.
Participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and values needed to provide comprehensive trauma assessments and build competency in completing the trauma assessment component of the Comprehensive Child and Family Assessments (CCFA). The training reviews assessment tools and teaches participants how to complete a written report of assessment and make recommendations.
The Trauma Toolbox training will provide participants with an understanding of the phases and core components of trauma treatment through the lens of four common treatment modalities: DBT, EMDR, ARC, TF-CBT.
Participants will build knowledge of evidence-based approaches to address the impact of trauma on multiple areas including, but not limited to: neurobiology, physiology, attachment, behavior, cognition, memory and dissociation. They will also learn strategies, tools and skill sets to guide individuals through comprehensive trauma treatment.
“The trauma training was very informative and Jen did an amazing job presenting the material.”
“I will use more assessment tools and use the language learned when engaging/validating my clients. I’ll feel more confident in diagnosing.”
"This was very helpful for strengthening our organization’s level of trauma competency and gives us ideas for making appropriate changes in our organization."
This was a great training. The trainers were great in explaining the material in a “real people” type of way.
