Fighting for full equality

CHRIS 180 applauds today’s Supreme Court decision affirming that LGBTQ and transgender people are equal under the law.  Based on Congress’ landmark civil rights bill passed in 1964, the Court recognized that our nation’s anti-discrimination laws apply to all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.  This decision helps to relieve the burden placed on so many individuals who experience discrimination because of who they are and who they love.  At CHRIS 180 we know that this is just one step forward in our fight for full equality, and while it is a momentous step forward it is still just more step on the long road to equality for all.  For decades, we’ve supported and celebrated LGBTQ+ youth, advocating on their behalf across our city and state. CHRIS 180 will  continue to work with all those who fight for full equality until the day comes when there is true equality and justice for all.
