Manager, Spiritual Health and Education Northside Hospital Gwinnett
I was born on the Island paradise of Jamaica and am a proud son of the Jamaican soil with all its complex and conflicting history. I am the first of four siblings my parents raised in Jamaica in a close-knit family system. I am married to Makesha, my soul mate and friend of almost thirty years. I received my Bachelor of Theology from the University of the West Indies, and a Diploma in Ministerial Studies (M.Div. equivalent) from The United Theological College of the West Indies. I have been in the Northside Hospital System since 2011 serving in various capacities from a CPE intern to currently Manager Spiritual Health and education. I am a Certified Educator in the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, and I serve as the Chair of the Caribbean Association of Professional Chaplains, in Kingston, Jamaica.
I am ordained in the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands (Congregational, Disciples of Christ, Presbyterian) for the past twenty-three years. On my ordination day, I made a commitment to live as an integrated person accompanying fellow travelers on our individual journeys to wholeness. I realize that this has been my inner drive all through my life, what CPE has offered me, is a path to arrive at the place of integration. This is what moved me to aspire to CPE supervision, a desire to continue to reside in a community that gives me life, but also gives me an opportunity to realize my life-long goal of faithfully accompanying (educating) others on their journeys. I am a member of the Central United Church of Christ, Decatur GA, where I serve as immediate past moderator of the Church Council.
I maintain a significant piece of my culture history as a member of the Caribbean Cricket Club where I am able to indulge my passion for the game of cricket. One of my other passions is photography and art. I also consider myself a “tekkie” with a fascination for gadgets and electronics. When I am relaxing my favorite thing to do is listen to music, which may range from Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky to Bob Marley and Tony Rebel and everything in between.
At my deepest core, I identify a sense of social justice and a commitment to accompanying persons on a journey of growth, development, and the co-creation of a more just and equitable society.
