Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT)

Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT)

Are you, or someone you know or love struggling with addiction or misuse? CHRIS 180 offers Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) – for those who want to recover from addiction to opioids including pain pills, heroin, fentanyl and Kratom. We also treat alcohol use disorders with MAT.

What is MAT?

MAT is a treatment that combines medication and counseling. Addiction changes the brain, which affects behaviors and emotions. For some people MAT is the most effective approach to treating addiction and achieving long-term recovery.

Medication

We prescribe Buprenorphine (Subutex), Buprenorphine/Naloxone (Suboxone), Naltrexone, and Vivitrol. These FDA-approved medications are life-saving treatment for people with heroin or other opioid addiction and alcohol misuse.

These medications help the brain to heal. There is no high, and in blocking the effects of opioids, these medications also eliminate cravings.

Counseling

Counseling helps you work on behaviors and emotions connected to addiction. You can learn to manage triggers, pain, or stress in healthy ways.  Therapists don’t tell you what to do, but help you learn skills to solve problems on your own.

What is the cost?

We accept most insurance and offer a flat-rate monthly rate for self-pay.

Where can I go?

We are accepting clients at our CHRIS Counseling Center-DeKalb (Brookhaven) and CHRIS Counseling Center-Atlanta (East Atlanta) locations.
