CHRIS 180 Builds on More Than 40 Years of Service to Metro Atlanta

CHRIS 180 is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its board of directors: Nicole Crowder, Karimah McFarlane, and Erika Montag.

“In this post-pandemic world, those of us in the nonprofit sphere have to adapt to new and ever-changing realities,” said board chair Jay Bernath, who himself steps into a new role after several years as vice-chair. “Each of these members brings an amazing set of strategic skills and a passion that will help CHRIS 180 meet both existing and upcoming challenges. All three have extensive experience serving on the boards of highly respected area nonprofits. With their help, CHRIS 180 will continue to provide outstanding services to the metro Atlanta community.”

Nicole Crowder has been a Managing Director with the consulting firm Accenture since 2003. She focuses on program management, DEI and talent strategy. She has been past chair of Operation Peace, and is currently chair of Black Atlanta Corporate Connect and Love Atlanta Project.

Karimah McFarlane is Head of Market HR for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic with Google. She is particularly passionate about people, with skills in people systems, DEI and change management. She is on the leadership council of Fernbank Museum and a member of the board of WorkForce Fulton County.

She brings to CHRIS 180 a deep experience in fundraising and development from her service on the boards of Families First and the Center for Puppetry Arts. She is deeply involved in the parent council of the Westminster Schools.

“We seek board leaders who will help us find new ways to serve our community as we build on our legacy of trauma-informed care to help children, adults, families and communities live more resilient lives,” said Kathy Colbenson, LMFT, President & CEO of CHRIS 180. “Nicole, Karimah and Erika all have a passion for this community and will help us as we continue our focus on helping people recognize their own worth and providing them the opportunities they need to succeed, live meaningful lives and contribute.”
