CHRIS 180 Raised $700,000 at CHRIStal Ball Event

Supporters donated thousands towards life-changing programs

ATLANTA (August 25, 2022) Atlanta-based mental health nonprofit CHRIS 180 celebrated its impact and legacy of leadership during its annual fundraiser, The CHRIStal Ball. The event raised over $700,000 for CHRIS 180 programs which will benefit children, youth, young adults and families in need of counseling services, trauma-informed care and housing support. The CHRIStal Ball was held at The Foundry at Puritan Mill and streamed live on CHRIS 180’s Facebook and YouTube pages for those who could not attend in-person.

“We are extremely honored to host the CHRIStal Ball for another year,” said Kathy Colbenson, LMFT, President and CEO of CHRIS 180. “It was inspiring to see so many people in support of our mission who are willing to give their time, effort and gifts. Every year, we can impact more children, adults and families in need with the help of the community.”

Susan O’Farrell was the honoree of this year’s event and CHRIStal Vision Award recipient. As a past Board Chair of CHRIS 180 and current Advisory Council member, she exemplifies leadership and has supported CHRIS 180’s vision through many years of advocacy and commitment. 2022 event chairs and CHRIS 180 Board of Directors members—Georgia-Pacific’s Lori B. Chennault and PwC’s April Estes worked tirelessly to help make the event a success.

During the CHRIStal Ball, CHRIS 180 clients shared personal stories of how their lives have transformed because of the organization’s programs and continuous support. Makayla, who was once facing homelessness, received therapy, housing and employment. Candace and Nora, a same-sex couple, shared about their journey of finding CHRIS 180 to help them achieve their dream of adopting a child.
